The Póvoa duo Pedro Garrido and Bruno Graça, representing CD Póvoa, ranked 3rd in the last edition of the national championship, was the big winner of the second stage of the national footvolley championship, played on the 22nd and 23rd of July, at Praia dos Pescadores, in Albufeira.

The race featured athletes and teams from the north to the south of the country, including a representative of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

It started on Saturday, at 10:00 am, with the teams divided into different groups, in a total of 16 games to directly determine the first 4 teams for the quarterfinals, continuing until late in the afternoon, with the Elimination Phase already under discussion.

On Sunday, July 23, the day of all decisions, with the Elimination Phase underway, the fight was intense to guarantee a place in the grand final, which took place very close to 18:00, in a face-to-face match between pairs from Poveiras.

But Pedro Garrido and Bruno Graça were more capable and, above all, more effective in defeating the experienced duo of Marco Flores and Bruno Flores, winning by 2 unanswered sets with the partials 18 x 11 and 18 x 9.

The podium was completed with André Soares and Nelson Pereira (CD Póvoa), occupying the 3rd position, after defeating the Setúbal duo Tammer Silva and Pedro Reis Batista (CCDTCM Setúbal) in the 3rd/4th classified game.

Organized by the National Footvolley Federation, the event was supported by the Municipality of Albufeira, Claw, Sports Partner, as well as other local partners.
