A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of raping his former partner in the municipality of Loulé, the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced this Tuesday, July 11.
According to the PJ, the aggression arose after the couple ended their relationship, despite continuing to live together "for about four months".
The man was not satisfied with the end of the relationship, which "determined that the victim, a 38-year-old woman, file a formal complaint with the authorities for committing the crime of domestic violence".
The sexual assault would happen “days after that complaint”.
Following the investigation launched, «it was possible to collect various elements of evidence, namely reports of various sexual assaults».
Sexual assaults always took place in the privacy of the home, in an environment totally controlled by the suspect.
Once the detention is completed, his presentation before the competent Judicial Authorities is awaited for the purposes of judicial interrogation and application of the coercive measures deemed appropriate.
The inquiry is directed by the Department of Investigation and Penal Action of Loulé.
