Citizen Card will become “contactless”

Another of the main measures applies to job seekers

The Simplex presented today has 18 measures: one of them is the new Citizen Card, which has the particularity of being contactless (contactless), faster job search and dematerialization of the multipurpose certificate.

«Starting next year, we are going to align Simplex with the calendar year and, therefore, the commitment now is a commitment to the measures that we will implement by the end of this year. These measures, above all more aimed at the citizen, are those that bring added value, simplification, efficiency, to citizens and companies», the Secretary of State for Digitization and Administrative Modernization told Lusa today.

And «it is in this spirit that we identified 18 measures, one of which is certainly very paradigmatic, which is the new Citizen Card», continued Mário Campolargo.

«And why is it paradigmatic? In some aspects, which are obviously related to updating security measures», but «there is one aspect that seems particularly important to me, which is the aspect of this new card being contactless», he pointed.

Currently, «we are very used to using bank cards that do not need to be put» in a box to read them, but «just approaching the equipment», said the minister.

«That's what our Citizen Card will have», guaranteeing «continuous security, the technological 'update', the technological update, and will open up a very broad set of perspectives for use cases», highlighted Mário Campolargo.

Now, he added, «identification can become simpler, just bring the card to the machine», whether in a Citizen's Shop or in a hospital.

Another measure applies to job seekers.

«We are going to speed up this job search, we are going to make a more efficient crossing between offers and job requests. And how do we do it? Recognizing in a more exhaustive way the skills of those who are looking for a job», through systems of algorithms that allow cross-referencing that information, according to the government official.

«This will be offered to all those who, being enrolled in the IEFP, are looking for a job», he stressed.

In addition, in the case of people who need a multipurpose medical certificate of disability, it will be “more intuitive” and “faster” to use, underlined the Secretary of State, referring that this document will now “be recognized automatically by everyone” the ministries and services that need it to grant benefits of various orders.

The dematerialization of the multisuo – ANIM certificate results in the implementation of an integrated process centered on the disabled citizen that integrates all the associated ministries, ensuring that the citizen does not have to obtain information from one area of Public Administration to deliver it to another.

This reduces non-relevant trips whenever possible, especially considering the fragile situation in which the user is found, with the benefits of reducing time for recipients and reducing interactions with multiple entities within the scope of a service.

These are three examples that Mário Campolargo classified as «emblematic» in this new Simplex package.

«We will complement the work that is being done in the area of housing and industrial licensing and we will also move towards other areas that will allow us to repeat this principle in some way: look at legislation, make it simpler, reduce context costs to make Portugal more attractive for companies that are here and for those» that intend to settle in the country, he concluded.

Other measures also include the electronic invoice for entrepreneurs, the tacit approval checker, the OK address (extending the change of address on the citizen's card to the address to be considered for the purposes of bank accounts), and Automobile Insurance in the Digital Carteira.
