The snail arrives at Colina do Revelim de Santo António, in Castro Marim, from the 21st to the 23rd of July. There will be three days of festival, with snails seasoned with “the best salt in the world”, accompanied by a varied entertainment program and in one of the best places in the territory to watch the sunset, with a privileged view over the Guadiana River and about the Nature Reserve.
The Chamber of Castro Marim, which promotes the event, says that «there will be differentiating aromas and flavors and different confections of this famous snack, distributed among the many taverns that are distributed around the enclosure».
The program includes the street entertainment of “Pardais à Solta” to open the three days of the event, from 19:00. On Friday, July 21, the musical show of “Fado Tropical” will be on stage at 20 pm, followed by the theater play “Art'rite”, by the amateur theater group of the Center for Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Castro Marim.
On Saturday, at 20 pm, the Duo “Amar Guitarra” will be on stage, with João Cuña and Pedro Mendes “Pierre” and their “guitars dialoguing on stage”. This is followed, at 00 pm, by the concert by “Los Romeros”, a trio that was born in the Alentejo and has dedicated itself, for a decade, to reinventing music with the sound of rumba and creating unique originals. They recently released the single “Loucamente” with DAMA.
Closing this event, on the last day, July 23, on stage, at 20 pm, there will be traditional music from the Alentejo with the viola campaniça and singing by Pedro Mestre, followed by a concert by Tiago Silva, finalist singer of “The Voice Portugal 00”.
In the quest to make its events more ecological and environmentally friendly, reducing waste production, this will be yet another Festival with Eco Copo.
The International Snail Festival is an organization of the Municipality of Castro Marim, with the collaboration of many associations in the municipality.
