A 55-year-old man, suspected of being the author of a homicide in Bensafrim in November 2002, was arrested in Poland, almost 21 years later.

The announcement was made this Saturday, July 22, by the Judiciary Police (PJ).

According to this authority, the crime dates back to 3 November 2002, in Bensafrim, Lagos, "when, following a discussion for futile reasons, the detainee, armed with a knife, struck the victim's neck, which would cause his death".

After the fatal aggression, the man 'fled to an unknown and unknown location, where he was located in Poland, where the internationally effective arrest warrant was complied with and extradited to Portugal'.

The man will be remanded in custody.

The inquiry is headed by the Public Ministry of Lagos.
