The final program of the MED Festival will be presented this Friday, June 2nd, at 21:00, at the Cineteatro Louletano. The moment will also feature a concert by Guinean Eneida Marta.
About a month before the start of the 19th edition of the MED Festival, the organization will make an overview of everything that the public can experience from the 29th of June to the 2nd of July, in the Historic Area of Loulé, from music to cinema, passing through the arts arts, literature, crafts, gastronomy, creativity, sustainability and much more.
Here's an aperitif already thinking about 2024, the year in which the MED will mark 20 years of existence.
Eneida Marta is the first artist confirmed for next year's edition and, as such, will be responsible for performing in this year's festival's final presentation, following the model of the last editions. For example, a year ago, Bia Ferreira was at the Cineteatro and will perform at the Chafariz Stage, on the 1st of July.
Eneida Marta is one of the most genuine and vibrant African voices in the world music scene. UNICEF Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, she has been accumulating awards, including 1st place in a World Music competition in 2005 and the nomination for Best PALOP Female Artist at the African Entertainment Awards USA, in 2022.
Defender of humanitarian causes and Guinean identity, this artist uses music to connect people, in Africa and beyond.
In this show, Eneida Marta will be accompanied by the Mozambican singer, Huca, who has made a career in Portugal.
In addition to being a singer, Huca – who joined Dino d'Santiago's Kriola/Badiu tour – is a composer and actor and has collaborated, among others, with the theater groups “O Bando” and “A Mala Voadora”.
Eneida Marta was part of the MED Festival poster in 2019.
Entrance to this session costs 5 euros. Holders of a Festival Ticket for this year's edition of the MED Festival have free admission, upon collection of tickets at the Cineteatro ticket office (limited number).
