“O Cid” takes to the outside stage of Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório

Breathtaking comedy about duels, love and honor, which is at the origin of the legend of the Great Cid

The Outdoor Auditorium of Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório will be the stage for the show “O Cid”, on Saturday, June 17th, at 18 pm, by the company Gato Escaldado.

Based on a text by Pierre Corneille, one of the greatest names in French dramaturgy, the company Gato Escaldado directs in this production a mind-blowing comedy about duels, love and honor, which is at the origin of the legend of the Grande Cid.

Synopsis: Rodrigo and Ximena love each other and want to get married. But after a serious argument between their parents, Rodrigo is forced to challenge Ximena's father and kills him in a duel. Now it is Ximena who has to take revenge and runs to the king to have Rodrigo condemned to death. Will these two lovers be able to stay together or will honor keep them apart forever?
