More than six thousand tastings of the best wines from Lagoa, the region and the country and thousands of visitors, national and foreign. These are the figures for the 2023 edition of the Lagoa Wine Show, which took place over four days in the old city centre.
Those who visited the Lagoa Wine Show, from the 7th to the 10th of June, could also watch, every day, the show cookings, tasting gastronomy of excellence, as well as watching a musical program that had several stages and with notes of “Fado à Janela”.
Despite the forecast of bad weather for the first two days of the event, the Lagoa Wine Show attracted, in addition to the usual residents of the municipality of Lagoa, Portuguese and foreigners, thousands of visitors who are already on vacation in the region, who thus got to know some of the best examples of wine production in the different regions of the country.
To accompany a good wine, the best of our gastronomy could not be missing. In this way, the Lagoa Wine Show was attended by renowned chefs, such as Nuno Martins, Head executive at Numa Restaurante, in Portimão, the sous chef Ricardo Luz, from the Al Sud restaurant, at Palmares Golfe (Lagos), and the Head Richard Sousa.
The Lagoa Wine Show had 16 musical shows, including one by the artist of Cape Verdean descent Lura, who completely filled the streets of Lagoa, with rhythms and sounds of African origin, as well as Ricardo Ribeiro, Pedro Moutinho, Gisela João, Luana Velasquez , between others.
“Despite the forecast of bad weather, which threatened the event, it turned out to be a success, due to the enormous commitment of the municipality's employees and the producers who believed in us. My thanks to all of them”, said Luís Encarnação, mayor of Lagoa.
