July Hunting Day presents new projects by Mértola for the sector

Municipality invites «all hunters, game managers, members of the local community and wildlife enthusiasts to participate»

The wild rabbit and Iberian hare breeding projects and the Experimental Campus of the School of Hunting, Fishing and Nature/Alsud will be presented in Mértola, on the 1st of July, at 18 pm, in the Multipurpose Expo Mértola pavilion, within the scope of the 00st Hunting Days.

According to the Town Hall of this Alentejo village, which promotes the initiative, «these two projects represent a significant advance in the management of game species and other wild species. Through these projects, it is hoped to contribute to the conservation of local species and provide a favorable environment for the development of wild fauna».

The “Open Day for the Municipal Hunting Zone” will offer an opportunity for hunters in the municipality of Mértola to get closer to that Municipal Hunting Zone (ZCM), learn about the ongoing efforts to improve habitats and discuss future strategies.

«It will be a propitious environment for the exchange of ideas, suggestions and experiences among the participants», guarantees the municipality.

«In this July Hunting Day, we intend to try to consolidate the link between hunters and the ZCM, inform about the projects underway in the ZCM, which aim to improve habitats, providing an enriching hunting experience for hunters».

Therefore, the Municipality invites «all hunters, game managers, members of the local community and wildlife enthusiasts to participate».

These 1st Hunting Days, which include sessions every month, «are an initiative that initially generated great expectations».

However, points out the Câmara de Mértola, «with more than half of the days already held today, we can say that the balance is extremely positive, due to the acceptance and adherence that these hunting days have had by the community of the hunting sector» .
