A 48-year-old man suspected of sexually abusing a 12-year-old since the end of 2022 has been arrested by the Judiciary Police, through the Department of Criminal Investigation of Portimão.
The man is suspected of several crimes of sexual abuse against children, committed "since the end of last year, in Portimão, started when the victim turned 12".
"The facts occurred in the suspect's house, in a context of family relationship of affinity and cohabitation with the victim", revealed the Judiciary Police.
The indication was made earlier this week, having carried out "investigative steps that allowed the collection of relevant evidence and which culminated in the arrest of the accused".
The detainee will be present at the first judicial interrogation for the possible application of coercive measures.
The Inquiry is carried out by the Portimão Public Prosecutor's Office.
