A 25-year-old man, suspected of trying to stab another man to death, early on Saturday, during a fight outside a nightlife establishment in Praia da Rocha, ended up being detained in the act by the PSP Rapid Intervention Team in Portimão.
According to a note from the District Command of the PSP, the man, «indicted for committing the crime of attempted homicide», was detained thanks to the intervention of the authorities, «with the help of people».
The PSP adds that, «in close coordination between the Criminal Investigation Squadron and the Judiciary Police of Portimão», other «evidence elements» were added to the file, such as «the viewing of images obtained through the CCTV system installed in the area of Stone beach".
The detainee was present in the 1st judicial interrogation during the day of yesterday, being decreed preventive detention.
The measure may be changed to an obligation to stay in the house when the electronic bracelet is installed.
