Faro promotes Open Day at the Official Animal Collection Center

Visitors will be able to meet and interact with the various animals available for adoption.

The Municipality of Faro will promote, on Saturday, June 24, an Open Day at the Official Animal Collection Center (CROAF), during which visitors will be able to learn about the functioning of this structure and interact with the animals available for adoption.

Between 10:00 am and 13:00 pm and 14:00 pm and 16:00 pm, visitors will be able to freely access the space, located in Medronhal, Guilhim's place, and get to know how it works. At the same time, they will also be able to meet and interact with the various animals available for adoption.

Within the scope of its operation, CROAF "practices a policy of responsible adoption in which, among other mechanisms, it defines a period of reflection before the delivery of any animal", explains the municipality.

This municipal structure “ensures that all adopted animals are dewormed internally and externally, electronically identified and vaccinated, according to age. All animals over 6 months old are also delivered sterilised”.

The Official Animal Collection Center of Faro was inaugurated on the 16th of January, having filled an old gap in the municipality, housing abandoned animals. In all, this structure has a maximum capacity to accommodate 170 animals (about 120 dogs and 50 cats).
