Applications for the Program to Support the Publishing of Thematic Works on the Algarve, an initiative of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve (DRCAlg), are open until 25 August.
This program «aims to support the promotion and dissemination of knowledge about the history and cultural identity of the region», explains DRCAlg.
All authors, native or resident in the Algarve, as well as cultural associations based in the region, can apply for this programme.
Authors or associations that present works that deal with themes of special interest, direct and relevant to the Algarve, may also, exceptionally, benefit from this support, even if they are not resident or based in the Algarve.
Support for publishing is an annual program, within the scope of cultural action, and is intended to share the costs of editing and/or producing unpublished works, and may be implemented through the acquisition of copies of books or works, in a variable number , or financial support in the form of non-refundable contributions.
DRCAlg will only support one work per candidate.
Eligible works are considered to be all editorial activity for books, magazines, including graphic design for electronic publishing, or editing/production of documentaries (including the script), audio recordings, or other recordings, regardless of their support.
