Pinheiro e Rosa School Group admitted to the High Performance Support Unit

The national project aims to «provide the necessary conditions for student-athletes to successfully reconcile school activities and high-performance sports»

The Pinheiro e Rosa School Group (AEPROSA) saw its application for the High Performance Support Unit at School (UAARE) approved for the 2023/24 school year.

The national project aims to «provide the necessary conditions for student-athletes to successfully reconcile school activities and high-performance sports», says AEPROSA.

After two years of experience as a school external to the UAARE, AEPROSA will be one of the reference groups at national level, which will make it possible to gather and accompany student-athletes from the eastern Algarve region, in its schools Basic Schools of 2,3 cycle and School Secondary.

AEPROSA will support not only students who already have high performance status, but also other students who are part of national teams or students with sporting potential referenced by the respective national federations.

«This support will go through the definition of pedagogical teams, made up of one or more accompanying teachers, several support teachers from different subject groups, a school psychologist and ICT support teachers», stresses Pinheiro e Rosa.

The UAARE team will promote the articulation of training, competitions and internships with school learning, the implementation of a Learning + Study Room, (which ensures a differentiated pedagogy aspect and mobilizes individual pedagogical plans, through personalized support whether in person than at a distance), psychological and psychopedagogical support and support for career guidance.

Another level of intervention will be with the Sports Medicine Centers network, especially in the regulation of early sports practice, in terms of regular follow-up (nutrition, injury prevention, overtraining e burnout).
