30 kilos of razor clams seized in Ria Formosa

30 kilos of razor clams, which were being caught illegally, with diving equipment, in the Ria Formosa, were seized this Thursday, June 15, by the Maritime Police of Faro.

During a surveillance action, "a vessel was detected and intercepted that was illegally harvesting bivalves using scuba diving equipment in the Ria Formosa", explains the National Maritime Authority.

The respective report was drawn up, with the elements of the Maritime Police seizing, as a precautionary measure, the diving material, as well as the approximately 30 kilos of razor clams, which, as they were alive, were returned to their natural habitat.
