Students will be able to add scholarships to work remuneration of up to 14 minimum wages/year

The measure was announced today by the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security

The Council of Ministers today approved a measure that guarantees that working students do not lose their scholarships or social support when they have income from work up to the annual value of 14 national minimum wages.

The measure was announced today by the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security Ana Mendes Godinho at the end of the Council of Ministers that took place today in Braga and during which diplomas were approved that regulate the social dimension of the Agendo do Trabalho Digno.

«A measure dedicated to student workers was approved, which ensures that they do not lose scholarships and social support», which can be accumulated with income from work «up to 14 national minimum wages per year», said Ana Mendes Godinho.

The objective, he explained, is to ensure that students who work can maintain those supports, namely family allowance or survivor's pension, and a scholarship, and also help to combat some "informal situations".
