“Water Challenge” returns to Algarve schools

The challenge will culminate in a final event with activities for the youngest and awarding of prizes to the winning classes of each cycle

The “Water Challenge” project is back in Algarve schools, with the aim of raising community awareness of water scarcity.

The initiative will start with two roadshows schools: a magic show and a playful-pedagogical activity in which water will be the main character.

In order to continue to add value to the project, a digital magazine “Desafio da Água” will be launched, free of charge, which will accompany the themes of this edition.

By March 2024, more than 10 topics will be addressed, all related to the preservation of biodiversity, sustainability and preservation of water resources.

Alongside Clarinha and Salpico, already known mascots, two new characters will also join, a squid and an octopus whose names will be chosen by the community, in a free vote, available on website.

On the digital front, cards, games and other recreational and educational content will continue to be launched.

With the start of the 2023-2024 school year, classes will once again be invited to participate in a creative challenge that aims to help them acquire more sustainable behaviours, such as reinforcing teamwork skills, decision-making and social and environmental responsibility.

The challenge will culminate in a final event with activities for the youngest and awarding of prizes to the winning classes of each cycle.

The project has the support of DGEstE | Directorate-General for School Establishments – Directorate of Services for the Algarve Region.
