Flowering torches and thousands of people celebrate the feast of the Resurrection in São Brás de Alportel

The party continues in the churchyard, with cultural animation and traditional flavors

“He is risen as he said! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!". This was the phrase that on the morning of this Easter Sunday, April 9th, echoed again through the streets of São Brás de Alportel. 

Flower torches, streets decorated with carpets of flowers and thousands of people celebrated the resurrection in this Algarve municipality.

The traditional Festa das Torchas Floridas began at 9:30 am, with the opening of the streets decorated with flowers, followed, at 10:00 am, by the Mass of the Resurrection, in the Igreja Matriz. After the Eucharist, the Hallelujah Procession took place.

From 15 pm onwards, the party continues in the churchyard, with cultural animation and traditional flavors.
