Lagoa celebrates International Day of Monuments and Sites with documentary premiere

On the 18th of April at 20:00 pm

The Municipality of Lagoa will premiere the documentary “Hole In One – Memories of Lagoa from Pre-History to the Islamic”, on April 18, at 20:00, at the Municipal Youtube channel, as part of the Commemoration of the International Day of Monuments and Sites.

The International Day for Monuments and Sites is an ICOMOS initiative, established in 1982, and adopted by UNESCO, which is celebrated every year on 18 April.

In each edition, ICOMOS proposes a theme for the activities that are promoted by its members and partners within the scope of the commemoration.

This year the theme is heritage and change.

«With this theme it is intended to disseminate the presentation of strategies that demonstrate the potential of research and heritage practices as elements of resilience and stability in a world in constant transformation, to define plans of resistance and adaptation to climate change, to stimulate the reconciliation of communities with their habitats, promote the dissemination of the diversity of built and intangible heritage and its apprehension as an integral part of an ecosystem, and support the creation and implementation of innovative ideas, oriented towards global citizenship and entrepreneurship with an impact on the green economy» , explains the Lagoa municipality in a note.
