Seminar at AHETA sheds light on legionella legislation and prevention

A technical seminar on “Legislation, Prevention and Control of Legionella in Water Systems” will take place on the 15th of March, starting at 9 am, at the AHETA auditorium, in Albufeira.

This meeting, which results from the joint organization of AHETA, Albombas and Grundfos, has the main objective of helping and clarifying all those interested in combating and complying with legislation.

«In order to prevent the appearance of this bacterium in the water systems of hotels and beyond, in any network of public baths and toilets, it will be important to implement a treatment solution, as well as to monitor the quality of the water», explains AHETA .

Speakers from different areas will be present for this, with emphasis on Paulo Diegues, from the General Directorate of Health.

The seminar program will begin at 9:15 am with the reception of participants and, at 9:45 am, the opening session will take place with the participation of Helder Martins, president of AHETA, Marcio Rodrigues, commercial director of Albombas, Lourdes Amor, commercial director of Grundfos , and Paulo Morgado, President of the Algarve Regional Health Administration.

At 10:00 am, the 1st topic will take place, entitled “Pumping Solutions for the Hospitality Industry”, by José Azeredo, from Grundfos. At 10:30 am, the theme “Legionella risks in the water supply and legislative framework” will be discussed, presented by Paulo Diegues, from the General Directorate of Health.

After a coffee break, the theme will be “Legionella and the Contraordinations of Law nº 52/2018”, by a lawyer from the company Colmonero & Associados, with the last theme called “Chlorine Dioxide in the fight against legionella” presented by Élio Ribeiro, from Grundfos.

At 12:45 pm, the closing session will take place and the event ends with a drink offered to all participants.

This event, aimed at AHETA members and all those interested, will be free of charge, but mandatory registration through of this form.
