Farense beat Leixões by 1-0, in a match for the 23rd round of the II Football League, played this Sunday, March 5th, at Estádio São Luís, in Faro.

After the defeat in Covilhã, Farense needed to win today's match. Even so, it was Leixões who dominated operations throughout the first half.

The Algarve even had a goal disallowed, in the 10th minute, due to a lack of Marco Matias, but, during the first half, Leixões were the best team on the field.

In the second half, Farense appeared with a different attitude and would eventually reach the goal. With Leixões reduced to 10, due to the expulsion of Calasan (60'), the Algarve team went ahead due to a goal by Rui Costa, at 65'.

The team from Matosinhos had another expulsion from Fabinho (75').

Already in the final minutes, Elves Baldé was also expelled, on the side of Farense, but the victory did not escape.

With this triumph, the Algarve now have 41 points and climbed to 2nd place, waiting for the result of this afternoon's clash between Estrela da Amadora (3rd place) and Académico de Viseu (4th place).
