Clube de Vela de Tavira has two archery national champions

Madalena Viegas and Laura Roberto were the winners

Madalena Viegas and Laura Roberto, athletes from Clube de Vela de Tavira, became national champions this Sunday, March 5th.

Of the 26 clubs enrolled in the indoor championship, organized by the Portuguese Archery Federation, only nine reached the final four, referring to the 2022/2023 season, held on March 5, at the ES Seomara da Costa Primo pavilion, in Amadora , and the Tavira club was one of them.

Madalena Viegas managed to revalidate the title of national champion competing in the senior category in barebow archery. The athlete Laura Roberto, on the other hand, managed to obtain the title of national champion, in appeal, in the juvenile level, in recurve arch.

In a note, the club explains that «at the youth level, there is no gender difference and the strength of the arch between them and them makes the difference, making their performance a little more difficult, so this title adds even more meaning to both both the athlete and the club».

The youth team, made up of athletes Laura Roberto, Ana Araslanova and Núria Machado, also secured the title of runner-up in recurve arch.
