The Municipality of Tavira, in collaboration with the Brotherhood of the Terceira do Carmo Order, promotes, on the 18th of February, at 10:00 am, the visit to “The Church of the Terceira do Carmo Order”, under the guidance of the art historian, Marco Sousa Santos .
Founded in 1747, next to what would become the convent of the Carmelite Fathers, the church of Ordem Terceira do Carmo is one of the most monumental temples in the city of Tavira.
With an estate consisting of altarpieces, paintings and images of great artistic quality, which also includes two former private funerary spaces of the Brotherhood, this church is a testament to the prosperity and religiosity of Tavira society in the second half of the 2th century.
