Researcher Cláudia Luísa is the guest of the next session of the cycle “À Conversa com…”, scheduled for Wednesday, February 8th, at 18 pm, at Gimnásio Clube de Faro, where “Mental health and aging: Myth or reality?” will be discussed.

In this session, participants are invited to discuss mental health and its role in overall health.

Along the way, we will try to answer several questions: «Is there health without mental health? What is the role of mental health in an increasingly aging country? How can we prevent mental illness in older adults? What are the consequences of stigmatization and discrimination against older adults with mental disorders?».

The “À Conversa com…” cycle is the result of a partnership between CEAD– Center for Research in Adult Education and Community Intervention, of the University of Algarve, and Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve, with the support of the Portuguese Red Cross Delegation of Faro-Loulé and the Gimnásio Clube de Faro.

Upcoming sessions:

Abril: “Talking to Catarina Doutor – Are we all racist? How is racism manifested in Higher Education?”

June: “Talking to António Fragoso – Age discrimination: myth or reality?”

October: “Talking to Carla Vilhena – Maternity education: yesterday and today”

December: “Talking to Sandra Valadas – Social relations in times of crisis: what are they for in life and work?”
