“For an Environment of Peace” is shown at the Praça do Mar Art Gallery, in Quarteira

Exhibited works seek to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of preserving nature

“For an Environment of Peace” is the name of the visual arts exhibition that will be on display at the Praça do Mar Art Gallery, in Quarteira, from February 16th to March 3rd, in an initiative of the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation, in partnership with the Peace and Art Society and the support of the Municipality of Loulé.

Between 2018 and 2021, the Council organized several exhibitions in the Algarve, entitled “Artists for Peace” and “For Peace, against nuclear weapons”, in which images were presented that sought to raise awareness of the dangers of nuclear weapons.

This year, with the title “For an Environment of Peace”, another cycle of exhibitions is taking place, which began at the Library of the University of the Algarve, on the 15th of September, and which will now be in the municipality of Loulé, in the city of Quarteira.

This time, the works on display seek to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of preserving nature. This through an environment of peace with oneself, with others and with nature.

This initiative can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 00 pm and from 13 pm to 00 pm. The inauguration is scheduled for 14:00 on the 18th.

The Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation aims to contribute, through the mobilization of public opinion, to the defense of Peace, security and international cooperation, and to friendship and solidarity among peoples, in harmony with the spirit of the Charter of the United Nations.

As a national public opinion movement, the CPPC seeks to interpret the aspirations of the Portuguese committed to the struggle for peace, respect for human and peoples' rights, for development and relaxation. and international.
