José Mota is the new coach of Farense

The experienced technician replaces Vasco Faísca

José Mota, former coach of emblems such as Paços de Ferreira, Leixões and Desportivo das Aves, is the new coach of Farense, the Algarve club has just announced. 

The experienced coach replaces Vasco Faísca, who was fired recently. The contract lasts until the end of the season.

At the age of 58, José Mota has played more than 200 games in the II Liga and more than 400 in the I Liga

In his resume, the highlight is the victory of the Portuguese Cup at the service of Desportivo das Aves (2017/2018) and four climbs to the I League (3 times during the season) and on two occasions he lifted the champion’s trophy, both Paços de Ferreira service.

Interestingly, this year José Mota has also coached the Pacense emblem, but was fired after seven games (drawing two and losing five).

According to Farense, the new coach «comes with the desire to win and to unite everyone in a single objective»: to put the Algarve emblem «in its deserved place».

José Mota will guide the first training session tomorrow.
