Farense loses in Viseu in the debut of coach José Mota

It was not a good debut for the new coach of the Algarve

Farense lost this Sunday, February 12th, by 2-0, against Académico de Viseu, at Estádio do Fontelo, in Viseu, in the debut game of José Mota in charge of the lions of Faro.

Despite the fact that, in the first half, the Algarve team was the one who pressed the most, the home team recovered and reached the break with a 1-0 lead, after a goal by Famana Quizera scored in the 45th minute.

In the second half, Académico asserted its dominance, and, despite playing reduced to 10 since the 67th minute, due to the expulsion of Jonathan Toro, who picked up two yellow cards almost immediately, scored again in the 77th minute, through Yuri Araújo.

The Algarve still tried to react. In the 83rd minute, after a well-placed corner kick by Farense, relieved by Académico's defence, the team from the Algarve asked for the ball from Igor Milioransa, in the area. But referee Tiago Martins said he hit his shoulder and the opportunity passed.

After 6 minutes of injury time in the second half, a game that was suffering for Farense ended. It was not a good debut for the new coach of the Algarve formation, who certainly has a lot of work ahead of him.

With this defeat, the Algarve leave the places with direct access to the I Liga, because Farense dropped to 3rd place (which will give access to a playoff).
