Farense loses at home to “lanterna Vermelha” and drops to 4th in the II Liga

Only goal of the match was scored in the first half

Farense lost 1-0 to Sporting da Covilhã, on their trip to this Beira city this Sunday, to play a game for the 22nd round of the II Liga.

The Algarve failed to win any points at the home of the team that occupies the last position of the championship and fell to 4th place in the II Liga.

The first half of the game was balanced, with both teams creating chances.

Farense was even the first team to put the ball inside the goal, in the 9th minute, but the move was invalidated by the hand of Vítor Gonçalves before scoring the goal.

Nuno Rodrigues scored in the 42nd minute, putting Covilhã up 1-0.

On their way back from the locker room, the Algarve went in search of the goal, but were unable to score, despite many attempts.

With this defeat, Farense now has the same 38 points as Académico de Viseu, when 22 rounds of the championship have been played.
