Study: Algarvians have a positive opinion about their interaction with tourists

The two projects were developed over three years by the University of Algarve

The Algarve people have a positive opinion about their interaction with tourists in the region and are in favor of the growth in the number of visitors in the municipality where they live, concludes the RESTUR project, which analyzes attitudes and behavior of residents regarding tourist activity in the Algarve.

The results of RESTUR and also of the TurExperience project, on the impacts of tourist experiences on the image of the Algarve destination, will be presented on February 15th, at 14:30 pm, in the RTA auditorium, in Faro.

The two projects were developed over three years by the University of Algarve, with funding from FEDER/Portugal 2020/Algarve Operational Program CRESC Algarve 2020, and now end with their public presentation to tourism agents in the region, who will thus be able to know the impacts of tourism on Algarve residents and what images tourists associate with the south of the country.

The session will be conducted by the project coordinators, Patrícia Pinto and Manuela Guerreiro, who are also CinTurs researchers and professors at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve.
