Coviran opened a new store in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, in Tavira, this Friday, and already has 51 units in the Algarve
The brand's new store, which has a presence in Portugal and Spain, is located on Rua Primeiro de Maio in this town in Tavira and has «butchery, delicatessen, bakery, fruit and vegetable, grocery and frozen food sections».
«With opening hours from 8:00 am to 20:00 pm, from Monday to Saturday, the new supermarket will serve the population of the region with a proximity service and promote the local economy, through the creation of jobs and the purchase of goods to local producers", according to the Coviran cooperative.
«This store reinforces the brand's position in the Algarve, a region where we already have excellent coverage», illustrates Acácio Santana, general manager of Coviran Portugal.
Coviran is a food distribution company, made up of 2404 independent retail partners in this sector.
«Currently, the cooperative occupies the fourth position in the national ranking by number of establishments, closing the 2021 financial year with more than 2.856 supermarkets operating under the Coviran banner, distributed mainly in Spain and Portugal. In 2021, it reached 1.644 million euros in gross sales under the banner and generated 15.119 direct jobs», concludes Coviran.
