60 kilos of bivalves and 5 hooks seized in Olhão

Two agents from the Maritime Police of Olhão were involved in this action, supported by a vessel

60 kilos of bivalves and five hand hooks were seized this Tuesday, February 21, in an inspection in the Lavajo area (Olhão), in the Ria Formosa.

​During this action, the Maritime Police detected and supervised two people who were in the process of capturing bivalves using five hand hooks, the use of which is prohibited in the Ria Formosa.

The respective news reports were drawn up, with the elements of the Maritime Police seizing, as a precautionary measure, the five fishing gears, as well as the 60 kilos of bivalves that, because they were alive, were returned to their natural habitat.
