A free cardiovascular screening will take place on the 28th and 29th of January, between 11 am and 00 pm, on Floor 19, in front of the Worten store, in MAR Shopping Algarve.
«The monitoring of risk factors is important for the need for changes in lifestyle with the inclusion of good practices in matters of health and well-being», stresses Mar Shopping, which offers this screening to the population.
In Portugal, cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death, according to the National Health Service (SNS). Around 35 Portuguese die annually, a figure that represents one third of all deaths in the population.
According to the SNS, these deaths and this prolonged suffering could have been avoided by preventive actions and a simple change in habits.
Risk factors related to cardiovascular diseases are high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, physical inactivity, dyslipidemia, arrhythmias, among others.
MAR Shopping Algarve states that its main objective, with this initiative, «is to raise awareness in the community for prevention, based on actions throughout the year with free multidisciplinary assessments».
