Last December 11th

The Museum of Portimão inaugurated, on the 11th of December, two exhibitions integrated in the official moments of the celebrations of the 98th anniversary of the city of Portimão and awarded the prizes to the winners of the 22nd Photographic Race.

The Exhibition of the 22nd Photographic Race of Portimão and the Exhibition “Planet in Fury” by Bruno Gonçalves can now be visited on Tuesdays, from 14 pm to 00 pm, and from Wednesday to Sunday, from 18 am to 00 pm.

The Photographic Race – which counts on the media partnership of the Sul Informação, whose director is part of the jury -, took place in May and registered, in person and online, the registration of 131 people, not only from the Algarve, but from various parts of the country and 10 nationalities.

«Participants had the opportunity to record, through a current look and their creativity, three photographs on each of the eight proposed themes on cultural and natural heritage, experiences, people and environments», explains the Municipality of Portimão.

In addition to this exhibition, “Planeta em Furia”, by Bruno Gonçalves, shows the look of a photographer of storms, volcanoes, events and severe effects.

«An opportune exhibition that, due to the fact that we live in a global context, alerts and challenges us collectively to take an active part in the development of the necessary actions, to minimize this planetary fury and live in a more sustainable way on our unique Planet Earth», emphasizes the autarchy.
