Moncarapachense defeats Ferreiras and wins the Algarve Super Cup

Through the marking of penalties, LGC Moncarapachense ended up winning (2-4)

LGC Moncarapachense won the Algarve Football Super Cup for the 22/23 season, played at the Municipal Stadium in Vila Real de Santo António (VRSA), this Thursday, December 29, after beating FC Ferreiras. 

João Barbosa scored for the club from the municipality of Albufeira, in the first half, and Celsinho, with a direct free-kick, equalized in added time for the second half. In the tiebreaker, through penalties, LGC Moncarapachense ended up winning (2-4).

The game was organized by the Algarve Football Association, with the support of the Municipality of VRSA and Sports Center VRSA.

The event was attended by Álvaro Araújo, Álvaro Leal and Célia Paz, from the VRSA autarchy, Alves Caetano, Reinaldo Teixeira, Albertino Galvão, Miguel Oliveira, Sérgio Piscarreta and João Paulo Ribeiro, from AFA.

Also watching the game from the tribune were representatives of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth of the Algarve, as well as presidents and members of the Governing Bodies of the participating clubs, among other guests.

The starting 11 FC Ferreiras were Miguel Ribeiro, Filipe Barros (C), Flávio Manuel, João Barbosa, Paulo Forra, Ivan Francisco, André Sustelo, Matheus Santos, Igor Machado, Edinho Junior and David Monteiro. 

Already for LGC Moncarapachense played Hanan, Jota, Ricardo Isabelinha, Nuno Silva (C), Ebanilson, Diogo Garrido, João Correia, Isaac Cisse, Evandro, Luis Pinheiro and Lamine Ba.
