Finance Department of Faro flooded and with roofs falling in, despite recent works [with photos]

The Finance Services of Albufeira and Olhão also suffered from the rain

Despite carrying out recent works, the Finance Department of Faro, as well as the annex building (formerly Civil Government), also occupied by services of the Tributary and Customs Authority (AT), were «affected by the intense rain that has been plaguing the district» and record «structural problems such as floods and falling ceilings in their inside».

The complaint is from the president of the District Directorate of Faro of the Tax Workers' Union (STI), which maintains that this is one of the most critical AT buildings at national level, in terms of degradation.

According to António Frazão, the service is waiting for «new facilities, promised in January 2017 by the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs», but the «construction process has been permanently postponed».

«Supposedly, the recent intervention should have resolved the poor conditions in which it finds itself, but it did not, which has posed numerous difficulties for workers in ensuring their daily tasks», adds the union leader.

In addition, the Finance Services in Albufeira and Olhão also suffered from the intensity of the rain in recent days and the damage caused is visible inside.
