The Alzheimer's home in Castro Marim, which should open in January, was visited this Monday, November 14, by Margarida Flores, director of the District Center for Social Security in Faro.
The infrastructure of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Castro Marim will have the capacity to accommodate 70 patients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias in an inpatient regime and 20 in a Day Center regime.
“Now, in the staff recruitment phase, the possibility of an atypical collaborative agreement with Social Security is being negotiated, given that this social response implies a more demanding investment in technical structure and assistance”, emphasizes the municipality.
With a budget of almost 5 million euros, the project is included in the ARU and PARU Action Plan and is an investment financed by the PO CRESC Algarve 2020 program, supported by Portugal and the European Union, co-financed by the ERDF in 1.134.701,80, XNUMX euros allocated, added to the million euros in support from the Municipality of Castro Marim.
The remaining amount is assumed by Santa Casa da Misericórdia, through own capital and a bank loan.
