Parish of S. Sebastião inaugurates recreational space and names the street after Father António Nobre

The name of José Viegas Bota will also be given to another street

The Parish Council of São Sebastião (Loulé) will, this Saturday, November 26, inaugurate a recreational space at the council headquarters and will also name two streets after José Viegas Bota and Father António Nobre.

At 10:00 am, the toponymic plaque of Rua José Viegas Bota, located next to the railway station, will be unveiled, and which aims to honor this former local mayor, businessman and who was also president of the iconic Atlético Sporting Clube.

This is followed, at 10 am, by the inauguration of Rua Padre António Nobre, «an artery that will perpetuate the memory of a parish priest who exercised ecclesiastical functions in Loulé for four decades, playing an important role in the reconstruction of the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Piedade or in the construction of the Parish Center of Loulé», says the Loulé Council.

The morning ends with the opening to the public of a recreational space at the headquarters of the parish council. It is a hall, with direct access to the outside, where parish meetings take place, which includes a small library.

From now on, it will be open to the public for moments of conviviality, lectures, meetings.

The space will have its doors open from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm, and it is expected that in the future it will also operate during the weekend.
