Farense wins a late game and ensures Happy Holidays in 2nd place in the championship

Algarvians approached the 1st place, Moreirense, and fled to Estrela da Amadora, the 3rd place of the II Liga

Farense beat Trofense by 3-1, in a delayed game of the 9th round of the II Liga, played today, Wednesday, the 16th, at Estádio de São Luís, in Faro, and gained ground in relation to their direct opponents, in the championship. In practice, with this victory, the Algarve are closer to the 1st place, Moreirense, and flee from the pursuers.

The first danger plays of the match were by Trofense, but the team Faro quickly balanced the scales and became more dominant.

In the 34th minute, the referee expelled Miguel Santos, the Trofense goalkeeper, and, in the free-kick punishing the foul that led to the red card, Jhon Velásquez made it 1-0, in the 38th minute.

Trofense suffered a big shock, but showed that they wanted to react, but did not manage to score until the whistle at the end of the first half.

On the way back from the changing rooms, Farense quickly scored the second. In the 47th minute, Rui Costa extended the advantage of the Algarve and reassured the team of Faro.

From here, the home team just had to manage and that's what they did. However, he did not fail to peek at the opposing goal, and managed to reach the 3-0, in the 87th minute, through Pedro Henrique.

Trofense had yet to score the goal of honor, a penalty, in the 89th minute.

Before the end, Farense was reduced to ten, after Róbson saw a direct red card, due to a very hard tackle.

The game ended shortly afterwards, with the Faro to party.

With this result, Farense now has 28 points in the II Liga championship, when 13 rounds have been played, just behind Moreirense (32 points, plus 4) and ahead of Estrela da Amadora (22 points, minus 6).

The next round of the II Liga only takes place at the end of December, due to the World Cup in Qatar, which means that Farense goes to the break in the championship in a comfortable situation, taking into account the aspirations of promotion to the I Liga.
