The second phase of the DeVIR meetings festival, dedicated to the younger audience, but not only, will run until the 3rd of December, in a hybrid format in person and online, in Loulé, Faro and Quarteira.
In this 8th edition of the event, DeVIR took into account “the urgency of acting in the face of the climate crisis and for human rights”, which led this cultural structure to build a program divided into several moments.
After what happened between the 14th of March and the 14th of April, for students of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of schools in Quarteira, now comes this new moment, designed for secondary school students in Loulé, Faro and Quarteira and adult audience.
The different phases «comprise in-person actions in the school context, but also shows aimed at all audiences, which complement the digital platform ArtePensamento&informa, which will be launched soon, a central element of this new format of the festival, divided into 16 sections, which aims to dissemination of knowledge and artistic practices on the topics covered».
Using art as a support for communication and awareness, DeVIR wants to «contribute to alert, to stimulate reflection and action and to promote the creation of critical thinking about the future of life on the planet».
With this objective in mind, the festival's organizer will make available «short videos, artistic interventions that result from readings of the World by national and international creators, in the areas of Performing Arts, documentary and animation and images of photography, BDs, Urban Art and cartoons, as well as information for the future».
«It is intended to facilitate both access to video records of an informative and scientific nature, as well as excerpts from artistic productions that fit into Artivism as a movement and expression. Proposals for work carried out in a school context (workshops on radio, photography, comics, short films, animation, musical composition, lectures, practical exercises/challenges) will be integrated into the ArtePensamento&Information digital platform», he adds.
