In one week, GNR detains 77 people and passes 440 fines in the Algarve

77 people arrested and 440 fines passed. This is the balance of GNR's operational activity, last week, in the Algarve, announced this Monday, October 24, this security force. 

Of these 77 arrests, 26 were for driving under the influence of alcohol and 10 for drug trafficking. There were still another 9 for driving without a license.

Last week, the GNR also seized 864 doses of cannabis, 166 of hashish, 42 of cocaine, six cannabis plants, two air pressure rifles, a carbine with a telescopic sight, a revolver and 3540 euros. four cell phones and a vehicle.

As for traffic, there were 440 infractions: 111 for speeding, 53 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 31 for anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 16 for lack of social responsibility insurance, 15 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or restraint system for children and 13 for using a cell phone while driving.

In this period there were still 132 accidents, which resulted in five serious injuries and 22 minor injuries.

Finally, a total of 60 awareness-raising actions were carried out, reaching 48 elderly people and 42 children within the scope of the Safe School.
