Man arrested for theft of 325 kilos of carob in Albufeira

A warrant of arrest was already pending on the suspect for the fulfillment of three months of effective prison sentence.

A 37-year-old man was arrested this Tuesday, October 18, for theft of 325 kilos of carob, in Albufeira.

After a complaint, the GNR went to the scene and located the suspect, who was already on the run.

The detainee was made an accused and the facts communicated to the Albufeira Judicial Court. Following the arrest, the Guard's soldiers also found that the man was subject to an arrest warrant for serving a three-month effective prison sentence. For this reason, he was immediately taken to the Prison Establishment.
