A Dulce Pontes soiree with Maria João marks Álvaro de Campos' Birthday Party, translating into a «very special event, because it is unprecedented in Portugal for these two singers to perform together», says Tela Leão, responsible for Partilha Alternativa, which organizes this event that celebrates the heteronym that Pessoa gave birth in Tavira.
Accompanied by João Farinha, on keyboards, and Daniel Casares, on guitar, the artists will interpret themes composed for poems by Fernando Pessoa, by Portuguese and Brazilian composers, and other themes by poets of their choice.
The show “Que Noite Serena”, is scheduled for this Sunday, October 16, at 18:00, at Igreja da Misericórdia in Tavira. Due to the weather forecast, the event will no longer be able to take place in Praça da República, as scheduled. Although admission is still free, it is subject to available seats and people will be arranged on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those who are unable to enter, «can always watch the event live through the social networks», invites Tela Leão.
The person in charge of the initiative couldn't be happier to include this soiree in the program: "I've wanted to bring them to the party for a long time and we finally got it", reveals to Sul Informação.
But before this show, the programming is already advanced. This year, the celebrations of Álvaro de Campos' Birthday Party begin on October 15th and end on November 30th and, as such, for the first day, at 16:00 pm, Álvaro de Campos will be presented in the Atrium of the Municipal Library de Tavira, with Vitor Correia and the Banda Musical de Tavira.
At 17:00 pm, in Jardim da Biblioteca, there will be a table set with some sweet delicacies and drinks to welcome guests, organized by Casa Álvaro de Campos in collaboration with the Irene Rolo Foundation and participants of the Doce Pessoa program.
Finally, at 18:00, at the Ermida de São Sebastião, there will be a performance-dialogue with Ricardo Belo de Morais, accompanied by the piano and songs by Rogério Godinho. Tickets cost 8 euros and must be reserved by emailing [email protected].
In addition to the shows, the program will feature many exhibitions, which can be consulted on here, and the initiative «Poesia Espalhada», which, at 11 am, on Rádio Gilão, includes interviews with artists from the program.
«The Álvaro de Campos Birthday Party also serves for local artists to be able to socialize with artists from outside, because what often happens is that, in the summer, everyone is working and they end up not being able to cross paths», he says. Lion screen.
Every year, since 2015, the cultural association Partilha Alternativa coordinates this celebration with the participation of individual artists and cultural associations from Tavira and beyond and, over the years, membership has been “increasing”, guarantees the official. .
This year, the initiative already had two agendas: one in June, when Richard Zenith, one of the greatest specialists in Fernando Pessoa, visited Tavira, and another on the 8th of October, with the presentation of the program in Lisbon, at Casa Fernando Pessoa.
