“Memories and Ethnography of the Algarve”: a documentary film show to see in Faro and Loulé

Sessions are about 1 hour

“Memories and Ethnography of the Algarve”. This is the motto for a documentary film exhibition, organized by the Associação Casa-Museu José Pinto Contreiras (ACMJPC) that will pass through the municipalities of Faro and Loulé.

This initiative «intends to disseminate ethnographic and documentary filmography, by amateur or semi-professional authors who document the Algarve in its various social and cultural facets», explains the ACMJPC.

Based on this initial project, the association «intends to constitute a film collection with a view to creating an Ethnographic Film Documentation Center in the south of the country, in digital format».

For the time being, this exhibition will pass, in the municipality of Faro, through the following locations: Gorjões (1st October at the former Sociedade Gorjonense) and Santa Bárbara de Nexe (29th, at the Parish Council).

In Loulé, the stops are at Casa da Cultura (the 8th and 15th) and in Alte (the 14th and 28th at the Museum Pole).

The sessions, lasting about 60 minutes, take place at 18:00 pm or 21:00 pm with the presence of the authors: Adolfo Pinto Contreiras, Adão Contreiras, Jorge Graça, António Clareza and Helder Raimundo.

This initiative has partnerships with the Casa da Cultura de Loulé and the Parish Council of Santa Bárbara de Nexe and the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
