Cycling: Algarvian Daniela Campos prepares Track World Championship in Switzerland

Portuguese Maria Martins also participates

From this Thursday, September 29th, Daniela Campos from the Algarve competes in the “3 Dias d'Aigle”, an international track competition that takes place in Switzerland and which will serve as a preparation and acquisition of points, with a view to the Championship. of the World, which will be held in France, from 12 to 16 October.

The track of the World Cycling Center, integrated in the sports complex of the headquarters of the International Cycling Union, receives the 19th edition of the 3 Dias d'Aigle, a traditional competition of the world track calendar, this time with added interest, given the proximity to the World Championship.

In the first of the three competitive rounds, Daniela Campos represents Portugal in the Olympic omnium. The program starts with the scratch, at 17:17, followed by the time race (19:11), elimination (20:19) and the points race (21:09).

On Friday, the two Portuguese women in the race will take to the track: Daniela Campos and Maria Martins.

At 20:00, Daniela Campos competes in the elimination discipline. An hour and a half later Maria Martins takes part in the scratch. It is Maria Martins who closes the national participation, at 15:05 on Saturday, in the race for points.

«We set out with the aim of earning as many UCI points as possible and also with the aim of giving the two runners a better preparation, with a view to the World Championship», explains national coach Gabriel Mendes.
