Loulé promotes “A Tree of Life” campaign

Interested parties can sign up for the initiative until 20 September

“A Tree gives Life” is the name of the campaign launched by the Câmara de Loulé with the aim of making the municipality greener and, by 2025, planting thousands of trees.

Through this environmental action, the population can “ask the municipal services for native species to be planted on their land, in their garden or backyard, a gesture that will help to reforest this county”, stresses the municipality in a note.

The trees come directly from the nurseries of the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICMF), under the protocol between the municipality and this entity. In addition to almond trees, holm oaks, olive trees, cork oaks, it is mainly carob trees that are delivered to citizens for their characteristics in carbon sequestration and, as such, in the fight against climate change.

To participate in this initiative, interested parties may register, until the 20th of September, through the online form.
