Castro Marim Caracol Festival returned this weekend and was «a success»

Festival will continue in participating establishments until July 31

Ravelin Hill of St. António, in Castro Marim, once again hosted the Festival Internacional do Caracol this weekend, which was «a success» and which will now continue in participating establishments until the 31st of July. 

Various aromas and flavors marked this edition, which also proved to be more ecological with the distribution of reusable cups in all taverns, to be made available to the public.

In addition to the snails, the festival had a program of animation, music, dance and other children's workshops. Over the weekend, the St. António was animated by “Spardais à Solta” and “Charanga Los de Ruedo” and Zé Francisco passed on the stage, in the acoustic concert “À Volta das Guitarras”, “Al-Mouraria”, “Gracia Diaz” with a dance show, VIVIANE and “Us Sai de Gatas”.

The International Snail Festival has, according to the municipality, the purpose of affirming Castro Marim as the destination “of the best snails in the Algarve and promoting traditional products, Mediterranean cuisine and culture”. In addition, «it is also a great stimulus to commerce and local communities, consolidated with the modality of adhering establishments», the Municipality also emphasizes.

The Festival was organized by the Municipality of Castro Marim, with the collaboration of associations of the municipality and also of the workers of the Municipality in the representation of the Center for Culture and Sports of the Municipality of Castro Marim.
