MED's Hammam Stage will have recycled cardboard beanbags and benches

This is an intervention by the Infinity Movement, a project created in partnership between Inframoura and Loulé Design Lab, incubator of the Câmara de Loulé

The MED Festival starts this Thursday, June 30th, and part of the audience at the Hammam Stage, integrated in the recently opened museum space of the Islamic Baths of Loulé, will be decorated with pieces created and produced with reused materials.

This is an intervention by the Infinity Movement, a project created in partnership between Inframoura and Loulé Design Lab, incubator of the Câmara de Loulé.

On this stage, it will be possible to relax and listen to the music of Terra Sul, Suricata and Amar Guitarra sitting on beanbags created with used advertising canvas or on cardboard benches created exclusively from packaging.

There will also be side tables structured with glass bottles collected from local restaurants.

Furthermore, the Islamic Baths, which opened about a month ago, will be open to the public during the MED Festival. During the days of the event, there will be guided tours of this space, between 19:00 and 23:00.

The Islamic Baths of Loulé were discovered in 2006. The protocol signed with the Mértola Archaeological Field for technical support in the excavation process made it possible to speed up and accelerate the musealization process.

The Loulé Chamber awaits the finalization of the proposal to classify the Islamic Baths of Loulé as a National Monument.

In addition to the Hammam space, the Festival’s cinema space – Cineconcertos -, on Rua do Município, will be adorned with pieces illuminated by solar LED lights, created with used packaging.
