The 18th edition of the MED Festival starts this Thursday, June 30, in Loulé. Until Sunday, July 3rd, the streets of the Historic Center of Loulé are filled with colour, music and flavors from around the world.

In this beginning, and with regard to music, there are several multinational proposals, from countries such as Ghana, Ukraine or the newcomer Mauritania. And it is precisely from this country that Noura Mint Seymali comes from, a singer with a unique vocal and instrumental technique, who is one of the most courageous and daring artists in Mauritania. Noura goes up to the Chafariz Stage at 22:30 pm.

At 23:15 pm, on Stage Cerca, the Ghanaian Gyedu-Blay & His Sekondi Band will perform.

From Ukraine come GO_A , with a modern reinterpretation of Ukrainian folklore, packed with more electronic and contemporary sounds. And they promise to capture new fans here with their music. To be seen on the Cerca Stage, at 01:15 am.

And on this first night, the highlight is also on one of the moments that are causing the greatest expectation at MED'22: RE:Imaginar Banda Monte Cara. This will be a true reunion of masters and the public with the history of Cape Verdean music itself and Monte Cara, the mythical entertainment space of Lisbon's nightlife.

The Cineconcertos MED, on the other hand, offer films with live music, while on Rua do Município it will be possible to enjoy an artistic installation by the Scotsman Beau McClellan. International cuisine representing countries such as Morocco, Spain or Brazil will be found in different parts of the venue, as will handicrafts.

Tickets can be purchased on here, at Cineteatro Louletano (until 18:00 pm) or at the MED ticket office (from 18:00 pm).
