Club Makumba de Tó Trips and João Doce performs in Santo Estêvão

Banda is one of the most recent musical projects in the Portuguese cultural scene

The “Club Makumba”, one of the most recent musical projects in the Portuguese cultural scene, will close the Spring 2022 Serões da Casa do Povo de Santo Estevão (CPSE), tomorrow, Friday, the 17th, at 22:00, at the premises of this community of the municipality of Tavira.

The line-up that will take the stage originated from the partnership between Tó Trips (Dead Combo, Lulu Blind, among others) and João Doce (Wraygunn), who in 2019 performed at CPSE, now joined by Gonçalo Prazeres and Gonçalo Leonardo.

«Club Makumba is a free, spontaneous, experimental and tribalist exercise. His first album came out in January 2022 and opens the window to a journey through the sounds of the Mediterranean and imagined Africa, for music without prejudice and without borders», describes Casa do Povo de Santo Estevão.

The edition of Serões da Primavera that ends tomorrow brought Manel Cruz, Miramar – Frankie Chavez and Peixe – and Márcia to this Tavira village, all of them with sold-out concerts.

The Serões da Primavera had the support of the Municipality of Tavira, as part of the Viva a Primavera! program, the Parish of Luz de Tavira and Santo Estevão and the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Algarve.
