Library of Faro promotes workshops and “Outings with History” during the summer holidays

A scientific illustration workshop, “Exits with History” and intergenerational activities are the suggestions of the Municipal Library of Faro for this summer.

On the 5th and 6th of July, Ana Rita Afonso organizes a Scientific Illustration Workshop, from 14 pm to 00 pm, aimed at people over 18 years old (young people and adults).

Ana Rita Afonso has a degree in Fine Arts and Multimedia, specializing in scientific illustration. Since 2014 she has promoted scientific illustration workshops with various public entities and NGOs.

The Faro library's “Summer Holiday Workshops” program also includes “Outings with Stories”, «which will take children between 6 and 12 years old to various places in our Algarve».

On the 12th of July the departure will be to Olhão and includes visits to the Municipal Museum of Olhão, the Caminho das Lendas and the Chalé João Lúcio, with a picnic in the Picnic Park of Olhão.

On the 13th of July, the children will visit “A Quinta” Santo Estevão, in Tavira, on the 14th the adventure will take place in “Monte dos Marafados”, in São Brás de Alportel, and on the 15th the trip will be to Praia de Faro.

On the 27th and 28th of July, from 14:00 pm to 16:30 pm, Clube da Agulha organizes an intergenerational holiday workshop, comprising the activities “Jogo do Galo”, “Easter Chicken” and “Gato com Recado”, with the support of the promoters of the project “Told Stories, Shared Smiles”.

During the months of July and August, the Library of Faro will maintain the “Story Time” initiative, from Monday to Friday, at 18:00.
